About Om Maradia

I’m Om Maradia, a third-year Bachelor of Commerce student at the Sprott School of Business, concentrating in Finance. I’m passionate about turning numbers into insight and using financial strategy to drive real-world impact. In my current role as Vice President Finance at the Carleton University Students’ Association, I oversee student financial programs, support audits, manage budgets, ensure transparent fund distribution and student discount card program. This role has deepened my leadership skills and my ability to balance strategic oversight with operational detail. Previously, as an Equity Analyst at the Sprott Student Investment Fund, I conducted equity research, and valuation analysis on major firms like J.P. Morgan, Moody’s, Crown Castle and others, gaining hands-on experience in investment decision-making. I also served as a Tax Accountant Co-op at Softron Tax, where I prepared personal tax returns, strengthened my understanding of Canadian tax regulations, and worked closely with clients to deliver tailored financial solutions. I enjoy collaborating with purpose-driven teams, automating financial processes, and learning continuously. My academic and co-op experiences have prepared me to pursue a career in financial planning & analysis, or private/public accounting/tax. Outside of work and academics, you’ll find me reading finance articles, networking with fellow professionals, or exploring new travel destinations
