I am passionate, visionary, and results oriented senior leader with proven successes developing and leading effective teams to achieve organizational objectives. I have been in leadership positions for over 15 years and I have professional experiences in over 25 countries including financial oversight during several disaster management operations. Although finance is my technical skill set, my true value is as a leader and a strategist. I have led teams and departments with vision, purpose, and heart emphasizing mutual respect, openness, and trust. I create a team first environment in which team success is just as important as individual growth. This has fostered staff development creating advancement opportunities from within, further ensuring high morale and strengthening the department. Developed the 5-year strategic plan to improve financial services, while decreasing costs. This was done through restructuring the finance team by leveraging international talent and creating tier based support in Washington. This resulted in enhanced overseas visibility, provided better partnership with regional and disaster operation teams, and increased analytical support. I also led the change management process needed to implement the vision correctly. Additional areas of leadership expertise include timely and effective decision making, creating strong partnerships to achieve mutual goals, and creating policy and leading the change management process required with any shifts in policy or strategy. I am a highly effective communicator at all levels, both internal and external to my Organization, a great problem solver, and a great 'outside of the box' thinker. My technical finance skills include all facets of financial management, including creating robust financial systems, processes and controls, financial analysis and reporting, budget development and management, month/year end closing, and audit and risk management.
