Background
About Omar Duran
I am an applied mathematician with a passion for using mathematical models to solve real-world problems in geosciences. With a Ph.D. from the State University of Campinas (São Paulo-Brazil) and professional experience across Latin America, North America, and Europe, I specialize in the mathematical modelling of physical systems. My work has been published in journals such as the SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, the Journal of Scientific Computing, and Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering. At the core of my approach is a deep commitment to collaborative, reproducible science, using rigorous mathematics to build trustworthy simulation technology for a more sustainable energy future.
