About Omar Farhate

Omar Farhate is a dedicated Environmental, Food, and Agricultural Policy Expert with a proven track record as a Young Leader, Activist, and Agricultural Researcher. His work bridges science, policy, and advocacy, focusing on advancing sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and youth engagement in global decision-making processes. Omar's multifaceted expertise positions him as a key voice in shaping the future of food systems globally. With over seven years of experience, Omar has been a strong advocate for youth engagement in climate action and United Nations processes. He has dedicated himself to fostering youth participation in food and agriculture policy discussions, capacity-building initiatives, and global debates. Omar has actively participated in COP26 (Scotland), COP27 (Egypt), COP28 (UAE), COP29 (Azerbaijan), and numerous other UN negotiations and events. Omar led for 2 years the world's largest and oldest student organization in the agricultural sector (IAAS World) from September 2019 till September 2021, where he pioneered the network's involvement in international environmental policy and worked on youth-led projects throughout Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America and South America. He currently still serves as an Advisory Board Member. Omar Farhate graduated from the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Rabat Morocco, and is an Erasmus Mundus Scholar 2021-2023 - Plant Health in Sustainable Cropping Systems (Intake 6) in 4 European universities. Omar is currently working at Emerging Ag as a Policy Officer.
