About Omar Hashwi

I am a senior at the University of Detroit Mercy and I will be receiving a bachelors degree in biology. I plan to get into dental school and pursue my dreams of becoming a dentist. I have plenty of experience as I have been working as a dental assistant for six years. I am interested in the dental field because it combines the health as well as the cosmetic aspect of the human body. Improving a person's smile with dental work can boost a person's confidence and that is important to me. I hope to improve patients' health by becoming the best dentist there is. One trait that makes me stand out is the way I can connect to patients who fear coming to the dentist. By explaining there is nothing to fear and the procedure that is occurring, the patient becomes relaxed and comfortable.Another trait that makes me standout is my leadership skill. This comes from my background of organizing parties, being the lead drummer and assistant principle as well at the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects.
