I have seven years of experience working in higher education with a strong focus on supporting students from underserved backgrounds, including undocumented, low income and first generation students. At Gavilan College I have led efforts to simplify the AB 540 process and secure funding to remove educational barriers. My goal has always been to build inclusive and student centered support systems that give every student a fair chance to succeed. Before Gavilan I worked at Imperial Valley College where I developed programs, built strategic partnerships, and helped shape policy to better serve students. One of my proudest accomplishments there was increasing the impact of student initiatives through collaboration. I bring a mission driven approach to everything I do by aligning college goals with community needs and creating sustainable and resource rich environments that help students thrive.
