About Omar Morales

I am a Cuban-born, Miami-raised Architect with over 35 years of experience in South Florida’s design and construction industry. As Founder and Principal Architect of FORMGROUP, Inc, I’m proud to celebrate 25 years of delivering innovative architectural solutions. I began my career with a passion for blending form, function, and sustainability—an approach that has shaped my work across commercial, residential, and hospitality sectors. One of my most rewarding achievements has been leading the design and completion of the CIMA Corporate Center on Coral Way, which has been praised as one of Miami’s most beautiful buildings. My recent experience include designing high-rise multi-family projects for major South Florida developers including 25, 28 and 36 story towers in Miami and North Miami Beach. Current projects include the renovation of the 36-story One Broadway Hotel in Brickell, various luxury residential projects throughout Florida and numerous high end restaurants. Licensed as both an Architect and a General Contractor, I bring a comprehensive understanding of design and construction to every project. My specialties include sustainable design, construction management, and complex architectural developments. Today, I continue to lead FORMGROUP as we partner with developers across South Florida to shape meaningful, high-performance spaces. My artistic eye—nurtured not only through architecture but also through my lifelong love of jazz drumming—informs every space I design. Recently, I completed my own sustainable home in South Miami, built with 95% American-made materials and designed for complete utility independence—an embodiment of the principles I stand for.
