About Omar Ojeda

Omar Ojeda is an accomplished international security sector advisor currently serving as the US Department of State resident (deployed) Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Defense of Tunisia (MOD). His job is to assist the MOD Inspector General to be the focal point and resource for fostering, good governance and accountability within the MOD. Omar is assisting the MOD in enhancing/developing capacity in all type of investigations, inspections, audits, anti-corruption standards, Ombudsman system, and operational readiness assessments. Omar is an international law expert, and served as U.S. Department of Justice attorney, and as a operations law attorney with the US Air Force. He also conducted training on operations law for foreign military and civilian personnel in Latin America and Europe. He is also a retired Air Force Lt Col (Judge Advocate). Most recently Omar served as an adjunct instructor at the Defense Institute for International Legal Studies (DIILS) of the Defense Security Cooperation University. He is also a consultant to the Kozolchyk National Law Center working on the study of constitutional reform in Latin America. Omar has an active US security clearance.
