About Omar Raafat

I am an innovative and multi-lingual Mechanical Engineer and storyteller with a master’s degree from Politecnico di Milano. I seek opportunities to find solutions to modern day problems, and I tend to address solutions in the most engaging of ways, especially when working for a cause. During my recent studies, I have been trained to tackle any kind of analytical or numerical problem while also learning the methods using which one may detect and solve problems systematically. I have various strong interests, including Sustainability, the Automotive and Aerospace Industries and Motorsports. My Master thesis was titled "Developing and Testing Guidelines for Designing Surprising Products," where I have applied UI and UX methods to generate a software in the form of an interactive presentation using which designers and engineers can systematically explore their creativity to develop a conceptual idea of a surprising product, invention or solution. As a part of the master thesis, the guidelines were subject to testing for their usability and their effectiveness in generating ideas for surprising products. Apart from my broad yet firm educational career, I am a naturally outgoing person who sees in-person meetings as an opportunity to display warm energy; I am hence very hospitable and approachable. Furthermore, I am a proven leader and I enjoy speaking publicly, networking and presenting, no matter what topic and to whom I present.
