About Omar Tayeb

As an undergraduate researcher at the UC Davis School of Medicine, I am exploring the effects of angiotensin II on cardiac smooth muscle cells, for a further study regarding hypertension in smooth muscle. I have gained valuable skills and experience in animal handling, cell culturing, PCR, TIRF microscopy, data analysis, and electrophoresis, as well as presenting and communicating my findings to a diverse audience of researchers, instructors, and students. I am also pursuing a bachelor's degree in Neurobiology and Behavior at UC Davis, with a keen interest in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurological disorders and diseases. Additionally, I have demonstrated my leadership and organizational skills by planning and coordinating events and activities for various student and community groups, such as the Neurobiology Club and the Kumon Learning Center. I am passionate, dedicated, and motivated to contribute to innovative and impactful research in the field of neurobiology and physiology.
