About Omar Zahhaf

Driven by a passion for innovation in materials science, I have dedicated my academic and professional career to pioneering advancements in polymer composites, with a particular focus on thermally conductive composites. My expertise lies in the intersection of materials science, polymer engineering, and the application of electric fields to manipulate and enhance the properties of composites- Educational Background:My educational journey has been deeply rooted in science and engineering. After completing my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Science and Engineering, I pursued an Engineering degree at Polytech Lille and a Master's in Polymer Engineering at ENSCL. My academic pursuits were fuelled by an inherent fascination with the boundless potential of materials and their impact on technological innovation- PhD Research:My passion for materials science found its perfect outlet when I embarked on my PhD journey in 2020. My research, titled “Electric Field Induced Micro-Structuring of Thermally Conductive Composites,” is an intensive exploration into the dielectrophoretic structuring of PDMS-Al2O3 composites. Notable achievements of my research include the development of a novel localized dielectrophoretic structuring process, currently under patenting, and one of the first structured thermoplastic composites. These breakthroughs stand as testament to the capability of targeted innovation in substantially advancing the field of materials science- Educational Contributions & Teaching:Parallel to my research endeavours, I have been actively involved in education. My teaching experience includes practical sessions in electricity, magnetism, wave physics, and optics, as well as leading classes in mathematics and resistance of materials as a module coordinator. These experiences have refined my ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, a crucial skill in any professional carrier- Vision & Future Endeavours:I am eager to contribute to material development in innovative environments and collaborate with professionals in the field. I am particularly interested in harnessing my expertise in polymers and composites to tackle real-world challenges and contribute to the advancement of sustainable and innovative materials.
