About Omolola Botsane

I am an Associate in the Corporate practice at Appleby LLP, one of the world’s leading international law firms. Practice focused on corporate finance, with extensive experience in cross-border finance (including real estate, projects, and funds), corporate restructures (M&A), private equity, and financial services regulation. I advise a variety of clients including commercial and investment banks, non-bank debt providers, private equity funds, commercial real estate investors, developers and corporates. I provide comprehensive legal support to clients encompassing due diligence, multi-jurisdictional corporate restructures, finance agreements negotiation and drafting, and financial services regulatory advice. Prior to joining Appleby, I trained and qualified at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Inc (CDH), one of the Big Five law firms in South Africa. During my tenure at CDH, I gained experience in the Dispute Resolution, Finance & Banking, and Human Rights & Pro Bono practice areas as a trainee. I was subsequently retained as an Associate, predominantly focusing on telecommunications regulatory work and commercial litigation in various sectors, including a number of high-profile matters. My diverse experience across practice areas has honed my skills as a corporate and finance lawyer, enabling me to navigate complex commercial transactions and analyse legal issues effectively while maintaining a client-focused approach.
