About Oren Gibb

Dual trade qualified Electrician & Instrument technician, with the New Zealand Certificate in Energy and Chemical Plant Operations Level 3 (Boiler strand). Becoming an electrician was a natural progression from pervious roles in the Telecommunications sector as a Fiberoptic and copper network T.A. for Downer NZ, from which valuable practical skills and experience helped jump start my career in the electrical trade. I have a keen interest in Industrial processes and the many career paths the industry has to offer. I have achieved the national qualification in Electrical engineering level 4 (electrician for registration) as well as Instrumentation and process control level 4, while undertaking a hour apprenticeship at Fonterra, Edendale, one of the worlds largest dairy processing facilities. Since then I had been working as a Project and Servicing Electrician for EIS in Southland, New Zealand. Where we covered a large range of industrial sites from sawmills and meat processing plants to an aluminum smelter and petroleum plants. At the beginning of 2021 I moved back to Fonterra to begin a cadetship as a Trainee Utilities Engineer, where I am studying towards the National Certificate in Energy and Chemical Plant Operations level 5.
