About Oreofeoluwa Adeyonu

Currently working on bringing evidence based sexual violence prevention programs to high schools in Vancouver (and the rest of British Columbia). Through a PHAC funded grant, I am working with the North Shore Women's Centre as the Lead Researcher and Project Coordinator with the goal of greatly reducing sexual assault of young women by entrenching in our Province’s high school education system the inclusion of evidence-based programs and practices proven to decrease gender violence perpetration and victimization. Alongside delivering and facilitating effective sexual violence prevention programs such as FliptheScript in the community and high schools, I am also leading research efforts to provide education to teachers, administrators, and community members on effective evidence-based gender violence prevention programsCompleted my MA in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at the Simon Fraser University, British Columbia. Prior to my masters, I received a BSc in International relations and diplomacy from Afe Babalola University, Ekiti. My core areas of interest are gender based violence prevention, inclusion of BIPOC women, gender-diverse & Queer folks in all spaces, mental health of minorities, women's rights activism in Africa and the Middle East, women refugees and migrants.
