About Orestis Katsamenis
I am a materials scientist by training with a PhD in bioengineering and over 15 years of experience in biomedical imaging research. I am specialising in X-ray computed microtomography (μCT) with a particular focus on histology and clinical applications. I hold a lectureship in Biomedical Imaging at the University of Southampton, UK, within the Bioengineering group; a position jointly funded by the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine. I am the Biomedical Imaging and X-ray Histology lead at the μ-VIS X-ray Imaging Centre (https://muvis.org), overseeing the Biomedical Imaging and X-ray Histology facility (https://xrayhistology.org) located at the University Hospital Southampton with which I hold a visiting X-ray Histology Scientist position, within the Biomedical Imaging Unit in Cellular Pathology and Child Health.
