About Orlando Ribeiro

Innovator, Subsea Engineer, Board Member with more than 35 years of experience in developing and deploying innovative technology in Brazil and in the US Gulf of Mexico in several hallmark projects in deepwater. His areas of expertise include Technology Innovation Development and Deployment, Technology Strategy Definition, Field Development Concept Selection, Deepwater Project Management and Execution, New Ventures, Operations Management. Chaired or was a invited Keynote Speaker in several panels in various conferences, such as Underwater Technology Conference (Bergen), OTC, OTC Brazil, Rio Oil and Gas, Oil and Gas Tech Week to name a few. He was Chair of the Program Committee for OTC Brazil 2015, of the Subsea Forum Rio in 2014 and 2016 and of the First SPE Forum Series in Latin America in 1995. He was awarded the SPE Latin American & Caribbean Regional Award for Management and Information in 2019 As R&D Executive Manager (Head of Technology, 2018 - 2019 ), I was responsible for managing the R&D Center of the company and with overall responsibility for the Technology Function in Petrobras, Upstream, Downstream, HSE and Renewables. During this period I encouraged the acceleration of the innovation process by increasing and speeding up the use of disruptive and digital technologies and by fostering the interaction with Startups, launching the Program “Petrobras Conexões para Inovação “ ( Innovation Connections ) Board Member of OGCI CI in the same period. OGCI CI ( Oil and Gas Climate Iniciative–Climate Investments ) is a company created by 13 major oil companies to develop and deploy technologies to mitigate the impact of climate change.
