As you're probably about to find out, software development is my passion. When I got my Windows 95 hand-me-down computer when I was hardly 5 years old, that was the stepping stone that would lead me into my future pathway in life. The endless potential and possibilities of this growing field is what drives me - because let's face it, it is the future. Despite my time with technology, there hasn't been a passing day that I haven't learned something new, thanks to its puzzle-like nature of critical thinking and problem solving. I took my first programming class back in my junior high days as a sophomore, where Java was the core of the topics that were taught. We were tasked with a final project to create a functional game, which is when two team members and I as the team leader, recreated a board game based on Monopoly. This was my first eye-opener to what is possible as a software engineer.Despite my early background in programming, I explored different career options throughout college - pharmacy, chemical engineering, and even law school, but everything led me back to my original path, a computer scientist. Throughout my time at the University of Houston, I worked on several team projects. These team projects varied and allowed me to acquire a lot of experience in different fields of computer science, such as software development, website design, game and art development. Although challenging at times, I am grateful for these opportunities as they allowed me to explore the vast field of computer science.As a cum laude Computer Science graduate from the University of Houston, I am excited to explore what great opportunities lie ahead.Some experiences I have so far:Developed a 2D platformer game utilizing Unity game engine and C# scripts.Proficient in multiple programming languages (C++, Java, Python).Experienced with interactive computer graphics.Worked on multiple team projects ranging from website designs to task scheduling software.Developed an e-commerce website using NodeJS, React, SQL, and Docker.Knowledgable in graphic design utilizing tools such as Adobe Photoshop.
