About Osirus Polachart

I am a school counselor, college advisor, mentor, English instructor, and speech and debate coach. I put on these many hats of roles and titles with one clear objective. To help each and every student reach their maximum potential and to inspire and motivate young teens who might be going through tough life situations. I am a first-generation, low-income, Central American,Southeast Asian, formerly homeless, hard-working, UC Berkeley and Mt. San Antonio College graduate. I've lived through difficult situations that has paved the way for me to accomplish any task possible. My identity and life expreiences have shaped my values, ambitions, and objectives. I simply want to help other people who look and live like me. There is nothing that brings me more joy than seeing a young person reach the best version of themselves right in front of my eyes. Essentially, I want to be the person that I never had as a young kid. My goals are to become a clinical psychologist and education advocate. I want to pursue a PhD Program in Psychology with a research emphasis on the US War on Drugs and how it affected the mental health of Central Americans and the Central American diaspora. I also want to study the beneficial effects of psilocybin, MDMA, LSD, ketamine, ayahuasca, and marijuana in psychotherapy with adult patients diagnosed with PTSD and Anxiety. My analysis would try to solve the long-standing issues with the War on Drugs in third world countries and how we can begin to solve the trauma that comes with gang violence and cartel violence through the drug trade. Moreover, my conclusions will hopefully lead to more discoveries by other scholars in Neuroscience and Psychologist the benefits of drugs and how we can use them properly and pave a path towards decriminalization and regulation of drugs throughout all of the Americas. My goal is to destigmatize drugs while also destigmatizing the people that use them and to find a purpose where we can use drugs responsibly and beneficially. For adults, I plan to become a therapist and psychiatrist with my own practice working with patients with PTSD and Anxiety and finding alternative methods of psychotherapy such as the use of psychedelics and other avenues of psychiatry. For young teens, I plan to provide non-profit counseling for low-income students who do not often have the access to mental health resources or academic counseling that could benefit them in the long run. Overall, I hope you understand the scope of which I operate in. The main goal is to help as many people as I can before leave this place for good.
