About Ossi Ikonen

World is rapidly changing towards sustainable way of living. We do completely new things, old things new way, ensuring renewal products and most efficient production processes, aiming one day to claim full CO2 neutrality. It is not anymore words of some minority lost their heart to nature, worship melting glaciers, but something what is required to have existence in market. It has changed how we all see life in Earth. My journey in this change, as part of my everyday work, consists of enabling sustainable energy use, by fine tuning or updating the processes, lowering the consumption or changing fuels towards CO2 neutral, ensuring all environmental aspects have been carefully considered. Besides following of company strategy and targets itself, it has required also constant followup of government and European Union level legislation updates, following environmental permits, including taxation rules or available subsidies for improving the sustainability in company and national level. This has required to working with many different authorities, but has ended up bringing benefits to company counted easily in multi-million euros. By eagerly following new innovative technology breakthroughs, not to forget today's rapid change in digitalization as one of the most important catalysts, it is easy to understand that all this is necessary and what makes world change even faster. While working actively as digitalization contact point for production site, I have been enable co-work with many different teams and members who share this same spirit in other production site. Through everyday learning, we are just taking first steps towards full AI enabled production, ensuring high quality, most sustainable and resource efficient production processes. There is whole lot to be conquered before world is ready, so it’s not time to lay back. I am honored, that I have been able enjoy the view right in middle of all this change over the years from my multiple responsibilities on energy, environment and digitalization and by having opportunity touching this in reality by managing related projects.
