Independent Consultant to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN-FAO), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mott Macdonald, AECOM, ANZDEC, Ramboll, and others; Worked with the Government of Gujarat-Gujarat Ecology Commission, Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology, and NGOs.Possess more than two decades of academic and research experience in Disaster Risk Management, Climate Adaptive Natural Resource Management, Food Security, Rural Development, and Capacity Building. Possess in-depth technical knowledge and experience in the fields of Agriculture, Agroforestry, Forestry, Fisheries, Livestock Husbandry, Coastal, and Marine Biology, Ecology, and Ecosystems Restoration. Worked in multiple countries including Timor-Leste, DPR Korea (North Korea), Papua New Guinea (Pacific Island), Eritrea (East Africa), Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, and has traveled around 21 countries.Affiliate of Mangrove Action Project, MAP, and Lewis Environmental Inc, USA; since as a mangrove ecosystem restoration trainer; involved in various Disaster Risk Reduction projects (Orissa Super Cyclone Gujarat Killer Quake 2001 and Tsunami 2004 in India) through Government bodies, NGO's and funding agencies.Authored three books and two integrated mangrove management plans published by the UN-FAO, Myanmar on the reserved mangrove forests in 2010-2011, involved in formulating “Myanmar National Action Plan for Agriculture (NAPA)” and “GEF - PIF on Integrated Coastal Management for Sustainable Management of Coastal Fisheries and Mangrove Ecosystem”; four chapters for Zoological Survey of India and co-authored “Climate change adaptation guidelines for coastal protection and management in India” funded by GEF and ADB in 2018; and Dune Management: Operation and Maintenance Manual for the Government of Karnataka in 2020. Translated a book on Men’s Health in Tamil “AaNN Ulakam: Udal Manam Arokiyam” and a Book of Poetry “ Saliyaatha Theendalkal”. She has awards and accolades to her credit.
