I am an enabler of business development who leverages background and experience in human resources to drive growth and results. My career spans infrastructure reconstruction, higher education, travel, and clinical diagnostics industries. Although, at first glance, these sectors may seem dissimilar, they share a need for structure, goal-oriented culture, and reliable accountability mechanisms. By implementing performance management, business metrics, and professional development systems, I witnessed organizations transform into profitable businesses. I found opportunities for department reorganizations, process improvements, cost savings, operational automation, and partnerships after analyzing company data and industry trends as well as developing relationships with stakeholders. Building trust takes time, however, it is crucial to understand the business’s cultural context and become a change agent who connects people and results. I have facilitated business start-ups, expansions, workforce reductions, and closings in management and consulting roles. My knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to local operations was key for a conglomerate to become established recently in Puerto Rico. While being their liaison with government agencies to obtain all required permits and authorizations, I led the massive recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff to have the right talent in place. Hurricane María and the COVID-19 pandemic have led businesses to rethink how to operate in our new normal.
