About Otto Starzmann

I am an entrepreneur, management trainer and growth investor. My background is in publishing, marketing, construction and food. Having built my own successful company, I removed myself from day-to-day operations. I am now focused on investing in businesses or backing turnarounds—when good companies get a little stuck. I am also passionate about fighting poverty and hunger, and I support charities operating in this arena. I use businesses as a vehicle for supporting good causes. Three decades of experience in project management, risk management, contingency planning, quality assurance (ISO and 9001) and compliance auditing. Specializations in Multi-lateral- and Donor Agency Funding systems for critical infrastructure development projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Charitable endeavors, including those at RIVER FUND, involved shouldering end-to-end responsibility for establishing and maintaining the functional capacity of all areas that impact organizational productivity, including Development and Fundraising, Systems, Technology and Outcomes. At Patriot Proaction, key marketing strategy is the creation of domestic and foreign Public-Private-Partnerships to open up export opportunities for innovative companies to access new markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. At The Duke Ellington Center for the Arts, primary focus involved brand development and awareness, infrastructure planning and establishment, legal and financial engineering, as well as general project structuring and management. At Social Media Holdings, responsibilities included strategic advancement of corporate goals with regard to current and pending social media properties in the specific areas of (1) finance methodology design, and (2) market tactics development and implementation.
