About Owen Holmes

5 years+ working predominantly on Gas however increase in work has led into the development of Multi-Utility skills. These aren’t just new build installations as the majority of my career we’re spent on high profile which included a range from LP-MP-IP. Many of the jobs were renewable energy plants which encased both excavating, pipe laying (including final connection) and reinstatement. This has developed my skills in a wide array which has gained me invaluable experience working in the utilities industry. I studied at woodkirk academy where I gained all GCSE’s then followed up by 2 AS levels in sixth form however after this I wanted to pursue a career in construction and decided to go to Leeds City Building College. At college I enrolled on the course of Electrical Installations where I passed and achieved my NVQ in level 2 electrics, after my second year I started on the level 3 however I was offered a job at Future Energy Group where I started as an NCO trainee, following 2 years and being bought out by Energy Assets I gained my Gas service laying along with SHEA Water & Electric. I then gained my excavator ticket (10t above and below) and my dumper ticket (below 10t). After nearly 5 years of working on Multi-Utilities I had eventually decided to pursue my a career in something which I’ve wanted to do since I was a teenager, this was Cable Jointing.
