About Owen Quirk

Graduated with a Doctorate degree from East Carolina University after obtaining an undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology. Doctoral research investigated the increased rate of knee injury among female athletes, specifically injury to the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). The research examined various theories regarding the cause of injury, including lower extremity biomechanics during sports specific movements like jumping and cutting. I am experienced and successful in the treatment of various pathologies of the musculoskeletal system with a special interest in treatment of shoulder pathology and sacroiliac joint dysfunction. I work with many athletes, with a focus on runners and triathletes. I have advanced training in running gait analysis and biomechanics. I strive to provide quality, hands-on physical therapy to help patients return to their previous level of function and recreational activities.
