Background

About Owen Reid

I recently completed a Software Engineering Internship at Barclays, where I contributed to AI-driven initiatives that enhanced the reliability and scalability of cloud systems across the organization. My work focused on applying machine learning and automation to large-scale infrastructure challenges, improving system performance and operational efficiency. Alongside this, I’m pursuing an Honours degree in Ethical Hacking at Abertay University, where I’ve developed a strong foundation in cybersecurity, secure system design, and cloud security principles. At Consilium Contracting, I build internal tools using Python, AWS, and AI APIs to automate operations and streamline data workflows—translating complex business challenges into efficient, scalable technical solutions. I’m particularly passionate about autonomous systems—AI agents, anomaly detection, and infrastructure that manages itself. I’m drawn to building intelligent, secure systems that scale effectively and operate with minimal human intervention. Deeply fascinated by technology, I’m constantly working on side projects exploring new directions in AI and automation, which can be viewed on my website.
