About Owen Scott

I am a dedicated and driven mechanical engineering student at the University of the Pacific, where I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a GPA of 4.00, expecting to graduate in May 2026. I will also continue my academic journey by pursuing my Master's Degree in Engineering Management at UOP. My academic journey is marked by a passion for problem-solving and mathematics, paired with a strong desire to make a positive impact in my community. Having earned my AA while still in high school, I set ambitious goals to complete both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in under five years. My choice of mechanical engineering stems from my commitment to serving others and addressing the challenges faced by society. Through this field, I aspire to become a practicing engineer focused on improving lives and fostering innovation. Recently, I completed a summer internship as a Power Plant Engineering Intern at Turlock Irrigation District, where I honed my technical skills using AutoCAD and collaborated with engineering consultants on critical projects. My experience also includes managing a team as a Soda Jerk Manager, where I developed leadership and mentorship skills. In addition to my academic and work experiences, I actively participate in the Pacific Motorsports Club, where I contribute to designing and testing a competitive vehicle for the Formula SAE competition. Through participation in this club, I have strengthened my SolidWorks skills immensely. My research on instrumentation in surgery has deepened my understanding of engineering applications in healthcare, further fueling my ambition to innovate in ways that benefit society. I am eager to connect with like-minded professionals and companies that share my vision of using engineering to create meaningful change. As I continue my education and professional journey, I look forward to opportunities that align with my passion for helping others while doing what I love.
