Background
About Owen Taylor
I currently freelance across BBC local radio working as a social media producer, sport producer, programme producer and broadcast assistant. I’ve covered sports for the BBC including FA Cup ties involving Premier League teams, non-league football, wrestling, motorsports, e-sports and many more. I’ve also produced video content for football interviews, wrestling events and even royal visits.I have a first class degree in sports journalism (BA) where I graduated from Birmingham City University. Some of my work included interviews with the likes of then England U20 manager Keith Downing, and former Shrewsbury Town CEO Brian Caldwell. Away from football I covered sports such as wrestling and motorsport.I’ve co-produced and hosted a radio documentary on the dark side of grassroots football including fan behaviour, racism, homophobia and sexism. The documentary was played out across several radio stations across the West Midlands including at BBC Radio Shropshire. This included launching a social media campaign to help promote the release of the series online.
