About Pablo Henny

CURRENT WORK & QUALIFICATIONS. I am an Associate Professor and Researcher (PI) of neuroscience and neuroanatomy at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Regarding my qualifications, I am a B.S.c from Universidad de Chile, Ph.D. in neurological sciences at McGill University and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford. RESEARCH & COLLABORATION. Google Scholar profile: https://shorturl.at/bmuUZ I study the fine structure of the nervous system and the bases it provides to neuronal and brain function. I use conventional, confocal and electron microscopy combined with stereology, 3D reconstructions and in vivo single cell electrophysiology. I have run government-funded projects (Regular, Initiation- and postdoctoral- Fondecyt, ANILLO, REDES), and collaborate with fellows from PUC, Universidad de Chile, de Santiago, Austral and Andres Bello, and abroad from McGill, Oxford, Liege, Louisiana State and Goethe universities. I regularly work with researchers outside my immediate expertise field, providing advice and training. TEACHING. I lead the course "Development and Neuroanatomy of the Central Nervous System", one of the three mandatory courses for our Ph.D. students. Head teacher of the courses "Human Neuroanatomy" for medical students, and "Neuroscience for Odontology", I launched a Diploma on Human Neuroanatomy to teach prospective neurosurgeons, neurologists, and other professionals. MANAGEMENT. Member of the Faculty of Medicine's Committee for Animal Welfare (CEBA-UC, 2011-2013), and the Ethics and Science Institutional Committee for Animal and Environmental Welfare (CEC-CAA, 2020-2023), vice president from 2021. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE. Member of the Board of Directors (2011-2015), and Coordinator of Activism (2015, 2016), Chilean Section of Amnesty International (volunteering).
