About Packard Gilson

With over six years of experience in DevOps and Software QA, I am a cloud and automation expert who is passionate about delivering high-quality software products and solutions. I currently work as a DevOps Engineer at OpenText, a leading provider of enterprise information management software and cloud services, where I design and implement infrastructure solutions on various cloud platforms utilizing tools such as Ansible and Terraform. I also have a strong background in scripting (Python, Bash, Perl) and Linux administration, which enables me to build and maintain AMIs and images for cloud marketplaces using Packer, and contribute to the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines for software release processes. Additionally, I have expertise in Vertica, a columnar database management system that supports analytics and machine learning on large-scale data sets. I have worked with Vertica for over 7 years, testing, automating, and analyzing its features and performance, as well as supporting its transition to a cloud-optimized version. I enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing user permissions and access control, and ensuring security and compliance on the cloud.
