she/her)I have completed a four-year undergraduate degree with a major in Health Studies at Queen’s University and two certificate courses in Commerce and in Employment Relations. In recent years, I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry and in engineering, both of which have offered me the opportunity to strengthen my communication skills and my ability to work in a team environment. In both roles I acted as the liaison between customers and my supervisors. I was thus required to communicate directly with both the customers and the managers and presidents above me, ensuring that I learned to communicate in different ways in various settings. My certificate in commerce has been central to the development of my communication skills, as the emphasis in this program was on oral as well and written presentations and assignments.I am now in my second year of law school in the inaugural class at Ryerson Univeristy. Unlike many other law programs, Ryerson University appealed to me because of its progressive and forward-looking approach to the study of law. The combination of tech savvy and entrepreneurial basis with a grounding in principles of social justice appealed to me on a number of levels and I believe that it will both play to my strengths and add to my skills.When I am not up to my neck in textbooks, sports are my passion! I have grown up playing hockey at a competitive level, but now all of my free time is spent out on the golf course. For me, it is the best way to clear my head and get my daily dose of Vitamin D.
