About Paige D. Ready

I have a passion for people, and my work experience and goals for the future reflect this. Through my work at Lakehead University Residence, I have made a point of being an exceptional social and educational programmer. I am able to address current issues in my community and the larger social community of Lakehead to pull together events that address tough subjects, such as alcohol abuse in young adults. I also created interactive and eye catching boards on subjects such as privilege, how to support someone struggling with a crisis, and conflict resolution to name a few. Throughout my time in Lakehead's "ResLife", I have also proven myself to be level headed and competent in dealing with crisis situations. I have provided both Mental Health First Aid as well as First Aid responses to the appropriate situations, and documented these events in detail. Supporting students in a crisis is something I am comfortable doing, and I have formed some strong relationships because of this. These bonds are some of the things I am most proud of creating in my life. During the summers of 2015 and 2016, I continued my love of working with people by finding employment for local youth with the Manitoba Youth Job Centres. Working with young people and helping them with their search for employment has been an absolute pleasure, and I am inspired by their enthusiasm. I am a person who is energized by others, willing to lead by example and ready to ask tough questions and be prepared for difficult situations. My goals for the future include working as an Intermediate/Senior teacher in a high school setting, or perhaps continuing my career in Residence Life by pursuing a position as a Residence Coordinator. I am willing to go wherever work is offered, and try new experiences.
