About Paige Vichiola

I work to assess the water quality of the Farmington River Watershed in Massachusetts and Connecticut by developing and conducting water quality monitoring and research projects. I manage the chloride monitoring program and various in-situ continuous data loggers for temperature, conductivity, water level, and dissolved oxygen. My various research experiences involve grab sampling for nutrients and bacteria, bacteria analysis using Colilert for total coliform and E.coli, continuous data loggers in both streams and lakes, lake sampling including algae sampling and monitoring thermal oxygen regimes, aquatic passage surveys as an L1 coordinator for the North Atlantic Connectivity Collaborative, flood risk surveys, macroinvertebrate surveys as a CT state certified coordinator and trainer, and multi parameter meter maintenance, and meter use and quality assurance and quality control for all types of research. I manage data, conduct data analysis, and ensure that quality assurance and quality control align with data quality objectives. I have experience in Microsoft Office, R Studio, and ArcGIS Pro. Additionally, I write research reports and standard operating procedures.
