About Pamela McSorley

As director of administrative services, Pamela McSorley multi-tasks a high volume of administrative duties to assist the Head of School in overseeing day-to-day business and operations of St. Francis Episcopal School (the largest PreK-8 parish day school in the country). She’s also the friendly face who stands proxy for the Head of School as needed, and a mentor to fellow administrative assistants on campus. Since 2006, she’s shared her trademark diligence, compassion, and loyalty with the St. Francis front office. Before coming on board at St. Francis, Mrs. McSorley was an assistant at Wilchester Elementary School in the Spring Branch Independent School District, where she earned the PTA Distinguished Service Award and was appointed to the campus advisory team. She has also worked as a legal assistant and contract administrator at Continental Airlines. She currently oversees a Houston Area Independent Schools administrative assistant alliance—which she petitioned to create—that meets regularly for collaboration and education. Mrs. McSorley attended Shawnee Community College in southern Illinois before moving to Houston in 1978. Along with her husband, Jerry, she runs McSorley Ministries, a Texas nonprofit dedicated to building and renovating churches in Mexico. She also serves on the advisory board of Called to Change, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring vision to individuals and organizations hindered by perceived limitations with a focus of ministering to incarcerated women and men. When Mrs. McSorley takes a break from helping others, she helps herself to her favorite pastimes: cooking, sewing, playing piano, singing and writing.
