About Pamela Wesonga

I am a result-oriented program management specialist with over 20 years of solid experience designing, implementing and managing youth empowerment and education related programs across Africa. I possess strong skills in mobilizing, leading, and building the capacity of nascent youth organizations. I also have experience in partnering with governments, private sector, civil society organizations and communities. This is in addition to, a wealth of experience in, management and oversight of programs, human resource management, financial management, and institutional capacity building. I am currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Party of the USAID Washington funded, Young African Leaders Initiative, Legacy Localization (YALI LL) Project, that covers 49 African countries. An $80 Million project whose aim is to establish a Pan Sub Saharan African Youth entity that is African Led- African Owned and African Managed to enable young people to solve their social, economic and political challenges. Previously, I served as a Youth Specialist for USAID Kenya and East Africa providing high level leadership of youth empowerment projects, while linking the projects to Technical Training Institutes, the government, donor organizations, private sector entities, civil society organizations and youth networks. Prior to joining USAID, I served as an Executive Director of Youth Initiatives-Kenya (YIKE), a Non- Governmental Organization, that I founded.
