About Pan Dimitriou

I began my studies in Manhattan (BMCC, CUNY chain, NY, USA) with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts, studied Psychology with Neuropsychology (BSc Hons) at Bangor University in Wales, and Human Cognitive Neuropsychology (MSc) at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I conducted research in the museum of visual illusions “Camera Obscura” and contributed in the Brain Atlas 3D project segmenting areas of the human brain with Seg3D, both for University of Edinburgh. Using MATlab, I integrated several systems measuring human behaviour into one GUI and ran the “Motor Control Lab” at Heriot-Watt University, in Edinburgh, for sensorimotor and psychophysical experiments. I possess specialised knowledge in a variety of scientific equipment such as electromagnetic motion trackers (trakStar), 3D printing (Makerbot), PLATO Goggles, ProReflex infrared cameras (Qualisys), force sensors (ATI), and experimental coding (MATlab and PsychoPy). My doctoral thesis was an exploration on how exogenous and endogenous factors influence the stability of our grasp and fingertip forces when interacting with physical objects. I am active in research with publications in international scientific journals. I have worked at Metropolitan college from 2018 to 2023 as a lecturer and Programme Leader in Psychology, and support officer for the Centre for Information, Research and Technology. I created a VR lab and acted as Supervisor for UG and PG final year projects. I currently act as lecturer in Dissertation projects and Advanced Research Methods on the MSc Psychology (Conversion) course at BCA, collaborating with the University of West London. I also lead the Courses BSc Psychology and BA Early Childhood Care & Education at BCA, Athens, Greece.
