About Pantea Parsa

Hi there! My name is Pantea, pronounced pon-teh-ah, and I’m a Senior Product Designer and Inclusive Design Lead based in New York City. I currently work at Backpack Interactive, designing variety of edTech products and wearing many hats, from UX research and strategy, to art direction and UI design. I have an MFA in Products of Design from the School of Visual Arts, a multidisciplinary design program focused on design for social impact. During my studies, I spent a year investigating the abortion care system and politics, and designed products and services for abortion seekers. I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, where I discovered my love for cooking, art, and literature and got my Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. In my free time, you can find me at a museum, on a dance floor, or at home taking naps with my cats.
