https://x.com/PHadikhani My academic journey spans diverse fields, including wireless sensor networks, social media analysis, unsupervised computer vision, signal processing, and deep learning, with a focus on unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and evolutionary algorithms. In my first postdoc, I studied gene regulation by integrating transcriptomic and chromatin accessibility data to model the effects of cis-regulatory elements on transcriptional programs using a multi-task learning framework. Currently, my work focuses on uncovering the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in asthma. I investigate circulating miRNAs associated with exercise-induced asthma symptoms using serum miRNA-seq data from large pediatric cohorts, followed by in vitro validation in airway smooth muscle cells. In parallel, I am developing a computational framework that integrates single-cell RNA-seq data with miRNA target predictions to quantify miRNA activity at the cell-type level, revealing regulatory patterns in asthma pathogenesis. Through this combined experimental and computational approach, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of gene regulation in complex diseases. As I continue to expand my expertise and delve into the intricate world of data-driven research, I am committed to making meaningful contributions to the scientific community by unraveling the mysteries of miRNAs and single-cell data in biomedical research.
