About Parijat Sengupta

Theoretical modeling of quantum condensed matter systems with an emphasis on electronic structure of materials. I have primarily worked and published (in over 35 peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings and seminars, and technical reports) on the theoretical modeling and numerical simulation of optical, thermal, and spin quantum devices harnessing the electron's intrinsic degrees-of-freedom - charge and spin. A part of the work is also available as tutorial material on the Purdue university led simulation portal, In addition, I have experience with analyzing data using standard laboratory equipment such as semiconductor probe stations, curve tracer, and network analyzers. I have also worked with tools and measurement/experimental techniques centered around the principles of lock-in-thermography, scanning acoustic microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and space-and-time domain reflectometry.
