About Paris Henry

Currently I am a teacher/caregiver for early Headstart providing services to infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks - 3 years old. I obtained my Teaching Strategies Gold certification in January 2014. With this certification I'm able to create lesson plans, complete checkpoints based on children observations, and communicate with my students' families. I conduct two home visits per year (fall and spring) and observe the living situation of each child. My main focus in my classroom is to stimulate the minds of my students, increase their awareness, and allowing my students to learn through exploring and making mistakes. Previously, I was in case management providing services for individuals with mental disabilities. My responsibilities included writing service plans that included daily tasks and goals for individuals to complete. I also accompanied them to psychiatric appointments and provided them with any community resources that they may have needed. I was a supervisor to about 12 staff members and was on call for 24 hours a day. In addition, I was responsible for making staff schedules and working shifts that couldn't be filled. As of today I am seeking a position in Early Headstart where my current experience and expertise would be of use. I enjoy going to work every day and seeing my students faces light up when they learn something new. There is no greater joy than seeing a child grow from infancy to a toddler and knowing that I assisted in helping them along the way.
