About Parker Rom

As a graduate of Ohio University, I have earned a Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate. In September 2021, I also completed a certification course to teach the International Baccalaureate’s Diploma Programme. This course reaffirmed my teaching ideals while also broadening my knowledge on various teaching skills. I have over 8 years of experience solo teaching in a variety of classroom settings, from private lessons to large university lecture halls. I currently teach at an English language school in Osaka and Kyoto, primarily teaching elementary and secondary level students and occasionally adults. Daily duties include writing lesson plans, creating materials and activities, designing curricula, and administrative work. I strive for every lesson to be well-planned and focused on the students and their individual needs, allowing them to engage in discussions and conversations instead of simply listening to teacher-led lectures. I believe that I am a well-suited candidate for any position teaching English, or social sciences, in Japan. It is with great optimism that I continue my teaching career for many years to come.
