About Parker Sheffy

I am an immigration attorney and adjunct professor who believes in the power of education and advocacy to transform lives. From teaching high school Algebra in the South Bronx to leading a Refugee & Asylum Law course at the University of Houston Law Center, I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact of sharing knowledge—both in classrooms and courtrooms. Over the course of my career, I have- Litigated at the highest levels, including motion practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, oral argument before the Fifth Circuit, and numerous favorable decisions from the Board of Immigration Appeals- Led legal teams of 20+ attorneys and staff, mentoring pro bono counsel, law students, and fellow practitioners along the way- Spearheaded programs that broaden access to legal representation, recognizing that indigent individuals face immense barriers beyond already demanding burdens of proof. My passion lies in breaking down these barriers—by teaching future advocates, shaping strategic legal arguments, and championing policies that uphold human rights. Whether in the classroom or the courtroom, I strive to ensure that every individual has a fair opportunity for due process and protection under the law.
