About Parker Wohl

When I was accidentally placed in an Arabic class years ago, I decided to stay for a semester because it was a chance to learn something new. Today, I hold a Minor in Arabic, have lived in Jordan, and continue to push the boundaries of what I am capable of learning every day. Hey, my name is Parker Wohl. For the past 8 months I’ve worked across various departments at AFS-USA to facilitate the exchange of students across countries and cultures. This has included data management and manipulation, social media planning and creation, giving presentations to large audiences, writing and reviewing copy, inbox management, medical form review, creating itineraries, outreach to embassies and congresspersons’ offices, and in-person chaperoning of foreign students. In this role, I’ve learned how to approach a task when you aren’t given a clear outline of what to expect. I’ve constantly been asked to take on new challenges and, with the help of my team, we have always overcome them. Teamwork has been an integral part of my time at AFS-USA. Working with students and colleagues from 10+ countries has broadened my understanding of what it means to work across cultures. I love drawing meanings from data. I am familiar with SEM, SEO, and PPC marketing through my collegiate emphasis in Digital Marketing and hold qualifications in GAIQ, Google Ads Search, among other platforms. Additionally, through my current role, I've deepened my understanding and familiarity of Excel, especially when it comes to sorting large data sets and finding relevant information within large quantities of data. During my time at the University of Georgia, I was a Co-Marketing Director with UGA Mind Blowers, a service-based organization that aims to support the youth of Athens, Georgia by helping middle-school students cultivate financial literacy and quantitative skills, as well as developing career goals. As one of three members of the marketing team, we created a comprehensive marketing strategy that covered multiple mediums, increased the number of volunteers within the organization, and spread awareness of our cause through community outreach. Achieving a minor in Arabic Language has been incredibly rewarding for me. I have continued to study the language, despite my coursework ending. As my proficiency increases, I intend to use Arabic as an instrument to both expand my career opportunities and make meaningful connections in my personal life.
