About Parth Basankar

I am a B.A. graduate of Economics with a Psychology minor, pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Research at FLAME University. Pune. I love applying multi-layered ideas to create new perspectives using research, something that Economics allows me to do. In the future, I hope to combine my passion as a corporate economist with the realities of behavioural analysis to create impactful and efficient policy applications in the public and private sector- I enjoy conducting Economics research, in both the quantitative and qualitative forms. The areas of research vary in degrees, with the common tangent being the use of multiple ideas and perspectives- My recent projects have ranged from analysing the impact of the post Covid-19 recession on the African-American community in USA to the integration of a behaviouralist Coasian solution to the American Civil War outcomes in framing the economic impact of geopolitical conflicts- My 12 years of experience in national circuit of professional badminton has provided me with several important lessons in the spheres of handwork, tenacity and the value of long-term effort- My several roles, such the Vice President of the FLAME Student Ambassadors and of the FLAME Economics Club, and the captain of the FLAME Badminton team and of the 2019 Karnataka contingent in the KISA Badminton National Championship have given me ample experience and proficiency in applying and fine-tuning my leadership skills- I write articles in my blog. ‘Uncommon Sense’, where I discuss niche economic ideas applied in real life scenarios. I also write newspaper articles on current affairs through the economics lens.
