About Parth Bhatia

Since my early days, my interest in Physics led me to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from IIT Kanpur. However, during my academic years, I discovered my inclination towards Applied Physics, which encouraged me to pursue a Second Major in Mechanical Engineering. This decision made me want to explore my future career in core-tech.After graduating from IIT Kanpur, I started my professional journey as a R&D Mechanical Engineer at ETA Technology Pvt. Ltd. Here, I engaged in projects that entailed developing algorithms for machines based on the principles of Physics. Notably, one project involved simulating Physics-based scenarios and employing basic machine learning techniques to determine forces acting between train wheels and railway tracks. This project introduced me to the field of machine learning and also made me want to explore it in a greater detail.To delve deeper into the realm of Machine Learning and Deep Learning, I dedicated time to acquire expertise in these areas. Building upon my new gained knowledge, I joined SIM Advisory as a Business Analyst. This role gave me an exposure me to real-world machine learning projects.Previously I have worked within the Machine Learning Fraud R&D team and the Banking Fraud Decision Science Team at Amex. In these roles, I employed Data Science and Machine Learning techniques to enhance the performance of Point-of-Sale and Banking Fraud Models.Currently I work at JPMorganChase in Applied Machine Learning wherein I experiment on various NLP techniques to improve the ML models aimed at predicting data use case scenarios and privacy incidents.In addition to my professional pursuits, I like reading and continuously seek out opportunities for personal and intellectual growth. Engaging in constant learning and exploration interests me and helps me to stay up to date with recent tech, which further enhances my ability to contribute in my field.My journey from an interest in Physics to the dynamic world of Data Science has been an engaging and transformative experience. Through a combination of academic endeavors, professional roles, and an inclination towards learning new things, I have gained academic and professional experience in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and Data Science.I look forward to learn new things and solve real world problems with the help of the knowledge that I acquire over time.
