About Parul Kumar

Patriotic at heart and teacher by profession, a visionary administrator holding an exquisite dream of making the nation a better place to live in through education. Born in 1968, has been working as a teacher for about 10 years plus and has taught almost all the classes. Also worked closely with Learning Disabled children for almost 5 years. Encouraged by the response of the children to my techniques, did P.hd in special education. Having an explicit thrust for learning, earned several degrees, ensuring transfering the best wisdom to students. Educational qualification includes Bachelor's in Home Science, Master's in Food & Nutrition, B.Ed and M.Ed from Annamalai University, M.Phil in Education from Madurai Kamaraj University and Ph.D. from Chowdhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Journey of more than 25 years from teacher to Vice-Principal and Assistant Professor to the present appointment of Principal, Navy Children School, Vizag (Biggest and Unique School) has been a satisfying experience. Have been Awarded for being one of the 100 most effective Principals of the country by Alert Knowledge Solutions in 2017 and also conferred the Dewang Mehta Education leadership Award in 2017 and 2018, Outstanding Principal Award by NES for AY 2017-18, Ranked one of top 25 most promising women education leaders in the country by Higher Education Society, one among Top 20 Women Leaders in Education Industry, regular nominee for CBSE training on Inclusive Education, Career Guidance, Ethics and Integrity and Life Skills (conducted 10 trainings so far). Also awarded with Avantika Atal Bihari Vajpayee Samman and Avantika Dr Radhakrishnan Samman. Awarded the Commendation by Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command, Viskhapatnam recognising the dedication to work and devotion to duty. Interviews published in the June 2018 edition and 2019 edition of The Higher Education Review magazine. Underwent a week long workshop on “Strategic Leadership for Schools in a changing environment” at IIM Ahmedabad, and Academic Auditor course at Alert Knowledge Solutions, Delhi
