About Parul Patel

Commercially focused, ethically minded executive operating in the social enterprise world following 15 years’ sales experience in global media. Also founder and director of a sustainable fashion line that works with hand block printing and weaving artisans in the marginalized communities of Gujarat, India. Previously I worked in the US and UK for BBC’s commercial group, responsible for delivering annual sales of $30m through co-production funding for well known franchises such as Planet Earth, Blue Planet and Frozen Planet. The role required bridging the creative world of BBC’s Natural History Units’ top production talent with the commercially driven, financial focused US networks such as Discovery Channel, National Geographic and PBS. It required adept relationship management skills, helping bring together the funding needs of creative producers with the programming needs of leading TV networks. Additional responsibilities included generating and delivering sales strategies and business plans; managing a portfolio of production, distribution and licensing deals; and generating further sales revenue through various platforms such as digital and international TV rights.
