About Pascal Calarco

With 30 years of experience in academic library leadership, I am a creative and passionate librarian who believes in the power of libraries in fostering student academic and research success, technology innovation and open scholarship and science. My core competencies include academic leadership and management, strategic planning, scholarly communication, new program development, and enterprise collaborative ventures. I recently completed service as a Visiting Program Officer for the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation at the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) and the US-based Association of Research Libraries (ARL), where I led the technical visioning, configuration, and prototyping of cross-border lending of accessible digital texts. I also recently served as the lead Director of the Collaborative Futures shared discovery and resource management platform, a shared Ex Libris Alma & Primo implementation with 18 university libraries in Ontario. After a pause during the COVID pandemic, I returned to the library faculty.
