About Pascal Davodeau

After having worked in France, at first for 27 years in the telecommunication industry, I worked afterwards there a couple of years on connected objects (Internet of Things a.k.a IoT) in a Java/JEE environment. I then decided to move forwards and found in 2018 a job as Back-End developer in Berlin. This was also a way to fully live my passion for languages. During the first 4 years, the job consisted of customer support, bug fixing, incident analysis, maintenance and enhancement, elaboration of solutions for new features using micro-services, databases. I have always dealt with complex functions, where knowledge was often missing or gone. Test automation and software monitoring (New Relic, Graylog) are now my new challenges. Global Player and Integrator : understanding the problems of every customer, users, colleagues, explaining, trying to make life easier for them are definitely something I do believe in. The End to End vision of a project and the quality of the productive software are for me essential : seeing the product as a whole (especially the business logic and the analysis of any feedback from customers or users). I am used to work for big projects, with lots of contributors. The job is done only when the whole final product fits the expectations of every customer. I prefer to see a company as one global team and not as a set of independent teams working next to each other, putting internal achievements first. Software health carer : A software is like a living soul (or body), it needs constant care and upgrade, automatic or manual monitoring, and regular testing. Anticipating : I do believe in checkups using productive information, in analysis of the behavior of real customers, in useful preventive refactoring, even when there are no new customer features involved in order to avoid new problem (prevention). A software should also generate enough global,information to help to understand and solve a future problem. Caring doesn’t stop the day it becomes productive. Requirements are not only about new features. Furthermore a software must continue to live when its creator has left. I definitely have improved my german language, as my current company uses german to communicate, and also my technical skills as I have the opportunity to work with modern technologies and methods. I speak french and english fluently (TOEIC 965/990) and enhance my german skills daily. In 2018, I upgraded my German skills in a german language school and got certificates (B2/C1).
