About Pascal Lapierre

I lead R&D initiatives at Morphocell Technologies, a Montreal-based regenerative medicine company developing cell therapies and engineered tissues to treat severe organ deficiencies. My current work centers on advancing ReLiver®, an allogeneic, stem cell-derived product designed for acute and acute-on-chronic liver failure—bridging cutting-edge research with tangible patient care solutions. Previously, I established and directed my own research program at the Centre de recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM). My faculty appointment in the Department of Medicine at the University of Montreal and my postgraduate teaching allowed me to help shape the next generation of medical researchers. During my time in academia, I was honored with multiple American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) awards, including the Pinnacle Research Award in Liver Disease, recognizing my dedication to exploring new therapeutic avenues. These achievements, along with securing grants and publishing extensively in high-impact journals, underscore my commitment to pushing scientific boundaries.
