About Pascal Mariany

Born in 1983 in Rotterdam, I spent part of my childhood in Luxembourg, combining a rich mix of cultural and professional experiences. My career started in ICT after completing my studies at MBO in Arnhem, but I soon discovered my passion for education and continued my studies at the Academy for Physical Education in Nijmegen. Since then, I have held various roles in education, from being a physical education teacher at the International Primary School Aletta Jacobsschool to working as a team leader at Sportbedrijf Arnhem, where I managed sports and health initiatives. These experiences laid the foundation for developing GymWijzer!®, a digital learning tool that supports cooperative learning in physical education. My career took a technological turn when I joined Rijn IJssel as an ICT lecturer, gaining in-depth experience in career development and technology integration. At the Techadoptie practoraat, I applied my expertise to bridge the gap between healthcare and educational technology. Since 2021, I have further expanded my skills as a lecturer, developer, and learning team supervisor at Hogeschool Utrecht, within the Ad programs in Digital Technology & Media and Software Development. There, I integrated innovative learning solutions and co-developed the curriculum. Since 2023, I have been working at Open-ICT, a full-time bachelor’s program within HBO ICT at Hogeschool Utrecht, where the learning process is approached holistically. Alongside my educational activities, I run MARIANYDESIGN and MARIANYHOSTING, businesses focused on web design and hosting, supporting over 150 clients. I live in Bennekom with my partner Marjolein and our two children. My career is a testament to my belief that education is a lifelong adventure.
